This morning, the President of the United States decided to openly praise his departing staff secretary, Rob Porter, stunning the public with his uplifting words for a man accused of heinous acts of violence and abuse against his ex-wives.
“I found out about it recently and I was surprised by it. We certainly wish him well. It’s obviously a very tough time for him. He did a very good job while he was in the White House. We hope that he will have a wonderful career” said the President, who didn’t have a word of apology for enabling the career of a serial abuser or a word of sympathy for his victims.

Given Donald Trump’s past history of sexual assault and alleged domestic violence against his wife Ivana Trump and his open association with other known abusers like Steven Bannon, it comes as no surprise that as President, he doesn’t spare a single thought for the women who were abused by Porter.
But he once expressed very different sentiments. The denizens of the internet quickly dug up this old Trump tweet, in which he comments on the situation between pop superstar Robyn “Rihanna” Fenty and her ex-boyfriend Chris Brown, who notoriously abused her during their relationship in a high-profile scandal.

This makes the President’s callous comments today somehow even more deplorable than they were before. If he knew better, why did he and his administration aid and abet a known abuser for thirteen months? Why would you wish him a “great career?”
The hypocrisy is truly mind-blowing.
